Foster Homes

Pet fostering provides temporary care to shelter animals who need to live in a home environment until a suitable home is found for permanent adoption. Finney County Humane Society's Foster Homes Program is a welfare program designed to place lost, abandoned, abused and relinquished animals in permanent homes.

Volunteer Opportunities

We believe the best way for our initiatives to be successful is for the community to actively get involved. Volunteering is one of the simplest ways to help us advance our mission. We have many volunteer opportunities at the shelter and in the community. Get in touch with us to see where and when we could use your assistance.

TNR / Barn Cat Programs

If you've been feeding stray neighborhood cats or are tired of dealing with ferals, take advantage of our TNR program to help minimize overpopulation.

Our Barn Cat program is designed for those who need good mouser cats. Our adoptees are fixed, have been rabies vaccinated and are anxious to start the hunt.

Transport Program

To maximize our reach, we partner with other shelters and/or organizations with similar missions. Teamwork helps us find homes for animals in our care much more quickly and efficiently.

Dog-Walking Program

Our Dog-Walking Program was launched to give members of our communities the opportunity to spend time with dogs that are thirsting for attention. Taking a stroll with an affectionate companion helps to alleviate the demands already placed on our staff. We extend a special "Thank You" to Golden Plains Credit Union for sponsoring this program.

Educator / Advocate Program

We see every opportunity as a chance to educate and advocate. Whether you have a classroom or club in need of a guest speaker, or are a troop leader in need of a tour, or are a business owner or organization leader in need of a meeting topic or host, we'd love the task of helping educate our communities. Get in touch with us to schedule a presentation request.
